Direct E-mail or newslette is an effective way of promoting your site.
The advantage of using E-mail rather than traditional direct mail
is that your message can be sent anywhere in the world and is delivered
within a few minutes rather than days.
The second big advantage of e-mail of course is that it is much cheaper
to send messages in this way.
But just like traditional direct mail, E-mail also needs to catch
the attention of the reader or else it too will end up in the trash
can! We have worked on a number of different campaigns for clients,
which have increased traffic to their sites.
There are a number of techniques that can be used in a direct e-mail
campaign, such as:
Text Only E-mails
Text only e-mail is small in size and can be received by all e-mail users. If you are unsure of the viewing facilities of the recipient, it is best to send your message in a text only format the first time.
HTML and rich media e-mails
With HTML messages users can receive pictures, animations, sounds,
attachments and can utilise hyper links!
Another use of HTML is to attach animated banners with a hyper link
back to your site. We have found these to be very effective in grabbing
the attention of the recipient. Click here to find out more about animated banners.
